Each year, hundreds of property owners in the Triangle area rent their homes and townhomes. It can be a confusing and time-consuming experience…full of legal pitfalls. The role of Block & Associates Property Management is:
- to carry out the responsibilities of the rental agreement.
- to protect the investment of the Landlord.
- to help the tenant have an enjoyable stay at the rental property.
Our computerized property accounting and information system allows us to track daily tasks, evaluate property performance, and provide an accounting of all property finances. Our Property Management division comprises four full-time professionals.

- Effective January 1, 2010, North Carolina General Statutes require that the Landlord not only provide and install an operable smoke detector on each level of the home, Landlords are now also required to provide and install a carbon monoxide detector on each level of the home if the home has a fossil-fuel burning heater (either HVAC or water) or appliance, fireplace or an attached garage.

Jeff Gillespie
Jeff has 5 years of experience in residential real estate and property management in the Triangle area. His attention to detail and customer service skills are a great asset to all the customers he services.
Jeff is a graduate of NC State University … Go Wolfpack! Through education and experience, he has developed a strong work ethic and technical background. His experience with problem solving and on-site maintenance is an asset to the property management team.

Jeff oversees all move-out inspections, any needed maintenance while the property is vacant between tenancies, and security deposit itemizations. -

Candace Pia
Originally from Kansas, Candace has lived in Raleigh for twelve years and joined Block & Associates in February ’08. Candace’s background includes five years of property management experience from multi-family communities throughout the Triangle. A true team player who displays conscientiousness and service-driven work habits, Candace provides exceptional care for our managed homes. Candace welcomes the opportunity to build a strong, working relationship with both owners and tenants brought to Property Management.
Candace’s responsiblities
If the rental property is a new home, Candace oversees any home warranty issues and acts as a liaison between the tenant and the builder. She does many of the interim inspections and is also the main contact for items of concern involving the neighborhood’s homeowner’s association. -

Jay Johns
Jay has lived in the Triangle for over 14 years. He is originally from the Pittsburg area and is a graduate of West Virginia University. Jay is dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service available. With experience in the plumbing, building supply and window industries, Jay is a valuable addition to our Property Management team.
Jay’s responsiblities
His primary responsibilities include performing interim inspections and arranging for any needed maintenance for managed properties. -

Kemp Hunt
Kemp is a Raleigh native who graduated from Broughton High School. He then graduated from Hampden-Sydney College and began his property management career. Kemp has experience in multi-family and section 8 housing. His experience in many facets of property management allows him to provide exceptional customer service to both owners and tenants.
Kemp’s responsiblities
His primary responsibilities include scheduling vendors to repair maintenance issues and performing interim and move-out inspections.
